Key West - We try the Wahlburgers restaurant

 

This “truck” has been here ever since we’ve been coming to Key West - the last 13 years.

We have become a fan of Wahlburgers that you can buy in most supermarkets. They are a blend of special meat cuts and they have a good taste. Last year, Wahlburgers opened a restaurant on the boardwalk in Key West Bight. I guess in order to advertise their menu, they offered $3 drinks and $3 “small plates” between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. With that as an incentive, we had to try it out.

Distances to everywhere - from Key West

We chose the $3  wine which was ample and the same amount you’d get anywhere for a glass of wine - but it only cost $3 instead o $7 to $9. The “small plates” were enough for two people to taste. We ordered five small plates which were very good. The tables were outside, right by the boardwalk. All together, it was about 1/2 to 1/3 the price we would normally pay for a night out in Key West.

The winds are still in the 15 to 20 kt range out of the east and will be that way for the next week. We’re fine but anyone that wants to head east is going to have a tough time. Our slip is deep into the harbor so we don’t feel a thing from the winds.
