Here we have the extraordinary spectacle of the fish tank without a screen on top (see the fish at bottom, left) Will the fish survive? How soon will his survival skills be tested? Stay tuned! |
We took a walk to Fausto’s Market, about four blocks south of us for fresh vegetables and other necessities. Along the way, we passed the bathtub that was converted into a fish tank. It’s has taken various forms over the years. Previously, it was just a fish tank but then they put a wire mesh over the top for obvious reasons - something to do with the local cats.
Turtle Kaal’s is no more - it was replace last year by Boat House - Oh well |
Then last year, it was sitting empty, too bad. On today’s excursion, it was in full use again although I could only see one inhabitant, a lone goldfish. There was no wire mesh over the top so either the local population of cats have suffered a decline or the owner has decided to let nature takes its course. We’ll monitor the situation over the next few weeks to see the outcome and report back here.
Next it was laundry in the afternoon (even in paradise, you’ve got to do laundry). At last we’re free of chores for a while in this 70 degree weather. We found one musician playing in the local pubs from Arlington, NY. He attended high school there and is now in Key West playing gigs. He’s Myles ManCusco and I wonder if Phil or Carrie know of him. We’ll see him play at his next gig on February 19th.
After all the hard work today, we’ll take the next day off, maybe Thursday too, then again, maybe Friday - anyone for Saturday - etc.
