Loggerhead marine in Vero Beach - at a dock with storms and lightning

The storms are coming…

We had picked this day to stay put with the forecast of strong thunderstorms coming through the area. Sure enough, the afternoon saw high winds and lots of lightning. You can always tell how far away the lightning strikes are by timing the pause between the flash of lightning and the clap of thunder. For a couple of times, we heard no difference!

Some miniature palms, I guess

Still, we survived the storms and now are looking forward to when we can restart our trip north. We are due to leave Sunday morning but the forecast is not good. We will make our decision when we get up tomorrow. From what it looks like now, we’ll probably stay another day here before heading to Titusville.

More blooming bushes, pretty to see

Meanwhile, we took advantage of the laundry facilities and I took on water and ice so we’re ready to leave if the weather permits.
