Titusville - We visit Black Point drive

With the full sun and warm weather, the alligators come out to warm up

We never tire of driving through Black Point drive on Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. If you have a Freedom pass, there’s no charge so we visit every few days. On today’s visit, there were lots of birds and more than alligators than at any time in the past. The drive is on a dirt road but it’s well kept and you just drive through and take photos.

The birds seem so patient - fishing for dinner

It’s too shallow for Manatees but there’s every other variety of wildlife. There was even an armadillo by the side of the road on the way back. The days have turned warm and it’s mostly sunny, a good combination for warming up the alligators - which is why we saw so many.

Guess which way the wind blows. The waves caved in part of the bank and tilted the palm tree.

Next on the list kids getting the Genset back into working order and some work on the aft head, the list never ends. I think the Genset just needs a better connection to the starter battery which is the approach I’ll use first for the “cure”. If not, it’s back to the drawing boards and cold mornings when we anchor out - which is the rule until we reach Marathon.
