Alligator River Marina - at a dock

The marina is an active crab area - the boxes are full of crabs

After all the fierce north winds, it was nice to have a calm day crossing the Albemarle with winds less than 5 kt out of the north. With our full enclosure, it was nice and toasty with the sunshine even though it was in the 40s at night.

With all the boats going south, I thought the marina would be full - not many here

We didn’t see any crab pots, it was clear sailing all the way across. There were no surprises as to shoaling, business as usual. We left later than all the big boats so we weren’t bothered by passes except for a few stragglers. Ann prepared steak sandwiches from her leftovers of the night before. The rib roast was as tender as ever, very little fat and melted in your mouth. The sandwiches Ann made from her portion was just as good at noon today.

We are snugged in for the night

We had good cellphone service all the way to the entrance to Alligator River where the service dropped. At the marina here, there’s no service at all from T Mobile. I’ll track it along the way to Dowry Creek, our stop on Monday.
