Titusville - Road Trip!

Time for lunch - with a view

It was still a pretty windy day so we thought of spending more time off the boat and taking a trip along A1A to Vero Beach. Ann packed sandwiches for lunch, we threw Hoolie in the back seat, and off we went. We had no particular destination in mind, we just wanted to see the sights.

The only parking spot to see the ocean between Cocoa Beach and Vero Beach while in a car!

Driving along A1A, right by the beaches, was an experience in seeing huge hotels which totally blocked any view of the ocean. The stores were ones you would find at any beach location. You could have been in any number of states along a shore.

Vero Beach mooring field looking north, a few doubled up but not all

Ann packed a lunch so we looked for a parking area where the ocean was in view from the car since it was very windy and rather cool. In the entire stretch from Cocoa Beach to Vero Beach, there was a sum total of one place to park where you could see the beach. Luckily, we found it. There were spaces for only six cars but the signs said that the limit was 30 minutes and the car had to be occupied at all times. That was no problem for us.

Looking south, much the same thing

We passed through Vero Beach and noted that most of the boats on moorings were not doubled up and i could see a few empty docks too although they may have been taken and the owners were just out for the day - but it was a Monday, not likely.

By the time we returned to Fleetwing, the wind had started to finally die off, almost normal now. Tuesday is our big day - both of us have passed the two week waiting period after our vaccines. We're going out to Shilos to celebrate Tuesday night!

Unfortunately Florida just isn’t pretty from the road. The only way to appreciate its beauty is from the water.
