Titusville - Alligator infested waters and cattle

Where are all the alligators? We know they're out there.

The St Johns River runs north to south by Titusville and there's a boat launch area in the middle of it that we visited today. Last year, we took the airboat ride and were amazed at the number of alligators along the banks. You couldn't throw a rock anywhere without hitting an alligator.

Catch me if you can...

At the same time, we saw cattle grazing along the shoreline. We wondered, how did they survive with so many alligators around? We expected to see carcasses all over the place with alligators feasting nearby. We saw no such thing. In fact, according to the airboat driver, he's never seen an alligator attacking or feasting on any of the cattle around the river.

On the lookout for his next meal - or for alligators?

On our trip out there today, we didn't see any alligators but we know they are there, waiting for their next meal. We left Hoolie in the car!
