Key West - We make a Fausto’s run

Only the low seawall of rock protects Key West harbor. Key West does not get as much
storm surge from a hurricane as Marathon because the water has somewhere to go
(to the north, west, and south)

There’s always A&B Marina if you have a powerboat and like company

The one saving grace in food markets in Key West is Fausto’s. It’s a small market but it has excellent fresh vegetables and fruits plus staples like milk, eggs, and bread. We always stock up once a week there. What you do not buy, however, is meat. The fish and beef are out of sight. Our strategy is to buy meat for the long term from Winn Dixie and have it delivered but by the fresh produce from Fausto’s.

Oh the selection of spices!! But oh the prices! $12.50 for one bottle that Ann wanted

A cruise ship was in town today and one could immediately tell the difference between yesterday and today. The sidewalks were packed. We avoided downtown and just walked along the docks. Ann cooked a beef stew in the Instant Pot and as usual, it came out great. It’s a great convenience to throw in all the ingredients, push a button and walk away knowing it will be done to perfection and timed automatically.

Next on the agenda for Wednesday is laundry, groan… Everything here is not vacation, we are just on a moving home and that requires the same attention as home does up north - but without the snow! We’ll find a way to endure the warm weather.
