Key West - Orchids in bloom

Orchids are often attached to every tree in a yard
Many of the guest houses in Key West have orchids attached to the trees in the yard. Orchids are the largest family of flowering plants on Earth. They show tremendous variety and are well represented in the tropical climate of Key West.

A closeup of one of the flowers
In our afternoon walks we'll see houses where the orchids are in full bloom this time of the year. We come to a halt and marvel at the colors and variety of the blooms.

Colorful house on the way back from Duval Street tonight
The temperature continues to moderate, 60s at night and 70s during the day with a normal wind for this area of 10 to 15, not the 20 to 30 we've seen the last month. I took Hoolie for his usual walk tonight and found Duval Street starting to heat up, lots of people. We expect the spring breakers to start arriving Saturday and  be evident for the next two weeks, we even saw a few today. March at Key West, time to relax even more than we've already have.
