Key West - Lunch at Kelly's

Kelly's restaurant, open air seating
To celebrate Friday (why not?) we chose a luncheon at Kelly's Caribbean, Bar and Brewery on Caroline Street. They have an interesting menu and we chose a late lunch so we could still have wine on the back of the boat. Besides, lunch was much less expensive than dinner. It's an open air restaurant that wouldn't do much business in the rain but then it's the dry season here, no rain here for weeks. The setting is lovely with orchids in the trees, very pretty.

Ann had the Shrimp & Bacon Quesadilla and I had the Mango Barbecue Pork. of the two, Ann's choice was much better. The pork was okay but I've sampled a lot of barbecue pork. Ann's choice was unique. I would have that if we returned.

This one has it all: fish to be filleted and pelicans to keep the harbor clean of  what the fisherman doesn't want
On the way back we saw several fishing boats return with catches. They were filleting the fish off the back of the boat. The ever present pelicans made sure no fish remains ever spoiled the waters of the harbor, free food - what's not to like?

Another boat, also with the ever present pelicans

There's another art festival Saturday nearby at Schooner Wharf so we'll take some time and see the exhibits. The forecast for the next 10 days is exactly the same everyday, a high of 80 and a low of 70. Who needs a thermometer?
