Marathon - Looking ahead

Ann loves these photos - great gist for painting
We are now looking daily at the weather forecasts for going east. If possible, we would like to avoid a strong east wind as we head east. The weather pattern seems to settle into a one week period with a strong front causing 15 to 20 kts of wind out of the west to gradually easing off and shifting of winds to out of the east over the next few days. The next strong front is due down here on Friday so we plan on heading east behind the front on Saturday and Sunday, at least that's the plan. Once we get to Miami and Marine Stadium, we much less dependent upon the weather although we do have a 30 mile run up the coast from Miami to Ft Lauderdale.

Every diamond was full, every tennis and basketball court in use
Meanwhile, we plan on renting a car on Thursday and provision for the trip north and see the sights nearby. I'm presently replacing head (marine toilets) since they're about 10 years old with that task starting on Friday. There is always something to do on a boat!

Hoolie and I walked over to the city park tonight. They have tennis courts, basketball courts and several baseball diamonds - all in exceptional condition. They are all in full use tonight! The only thing they lack is a dog park where dogs can run free.

Typical politically correct playground - no risky equipment like we used to have
Once again tonight, the water is calm, the temperature is currently 76 at 8:00 pm tonight with no wind, just perfect weather. The good thing about Marathon is that there are no bugs. Apparently they spray, I guess. I've never seen spray trucks out but it's very comfortable sitting out on the back of the boat in an open cockpit. I guess they have their priorities down for visiting boaters.
